She and Him

Here is a story about a musical love affair between She and Him. First they meet. It was love at first sound, they got married in music land and had a music baby.
She is the charming blue eyed bubbly and strange-ish character Zooey Deschanel who is almost always best credited for her role in Almost famous. M. (Matt) Ward, a respected song writer from Portland Oregon best know for his album Transfiguration of Vincent, is the Him.
The two met and started recording after Matt fell instantly in love with Zooey’s intuitive musical talents and Zooey was in awe of Matt’s timeless sound. They each have a mutual affection for old records and old sounds, which obviously influence their collaboration. The mixture of Zooey Dechanel’s reminiscent old school soulful yet innocent expression combined with Ward’s unique arrangement style and masterful guitar skills has a nostalgic sound like nothing in the lime light today.
She and Him’s first album Volume 1 is an honest melodic prize. It consists of songs with whistles, banjo playing and twangy lyrics that give it a real country feel, but also has some soft ballads which could carry anyone away into a day dream.
