Emmy Awards Highlights and List of Winners: Sopranos and 30 Rock Top

The Sopranos and 30 Rock topped the 59th Emmy Awards last night. The Sopranos took home the Emmy for best drama, while 30 Rock nabbed best comedy.

Some of the other highlights were:

Lead Roles:
James Spader of Boston Legal for best actor in a drama
Sally Field of Brothers and Sisters for best actress in a drama
Ugly Betty’s America Ferrara for best actress in a comedy
Ricky Gervais for best actor in a comedy for Extras

Supporting Roles:
Katherine Heigl of Grey’s Anatomy
Jaime Pressly of My Name is Earl
Jeremy Piven of Entorage
Terry O’Quinn of Lost

Also, The Amazing Race won best reality / competition for the fifth time.

James Gandolfini doesn’t look too stoked to be there in that picture. Probably because he lost to James Spader of Boston Legal for best actor in a drama. Oh well, can’t win em’ all I guess. I am glad that 30 Rock won for best comedy, I love that show. Although I don’t have cable anymore so I don’t get
to watch my Thursday night line up anymore!
